the Creative process

Colour in motion

Maria’s creative process is a blend of the real world and the digital. She begins with bold, expressive brushstrokes on paper, layering colour in ways that feel instinctive and fun. These painted marks are then scanned at high resolution and transformed into digital compositions.

Working between the two worlds gives Maria the best of both. She loves the freedom and flexibility of digital tools, where colours can interplay in endless variations and compositions can shift and evolve. At the same time, the physical act of painting, mixing pigments, pushing paint across the page and watching shapes emerge, brings an energy that cannot be replicated on screen. The final works carry both these qualities: the vibrancy of real paint and the playful possibilities of digital design.
